Wednesdays
There are three walks on Wednesdays: two all-day 8 to 11 mile walks (Ramblers grade Moderate) and a shorter, slower-paced, 5 to 6 mile morning walk (Ramblers grade Leisurely).
On the all-day walks there is a stop for lunch during the walk. Some leaders arrange for this to be near a pub or café so people can buy food and drink if they don’t wish to bring a picnic. It is not unknown, however, for pubs to be unexpectedly shut or unable to serve food on the day so it’s wise to bring something to eat just in case. If there is no place to buy refreshment on the route, the need to bring a picnic will be included in the details.
On the morning walks people sometimes meet after the walk for refreshment in a nearby pub or café.
Thursdays
There is a morning 5 to 6 mile walk (grade Moderate) each Thursday. Those on the walk sometimes meet after it for refreshment in a nearby pub or café.
To join the walk please arrive at the start point 15 minutes before the walk start time and introduce yourself to the Walk Leader. In the event of severe weather please contact the walk leader to confirm if the walk will go ahead.
