We try to put on walks each Sunday and Wednesday as well as some Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year. We also organise walks Friday evenings during the summer. We also organise a Festival of Winter Walks between december 26th and January 2nd each year.
The next 5 upcoming walks are listed on the left. You can click on a walk to get further details about that walk. This will open a new window on the National Ramblers website showing a full description of the walk including map reference. All our walks are available via the National Ramblers Walk Finder and our website now display our walks information directly from them.
We produce a list of walks 3 times a year. The current programme can be downloaded in pdf format.
To help you find the walks you are interested in we have grouped them into:
In the event of severe weather please contact the walk leader to confirm if the walk will go ahead.
The grid reference (GR) for the starting point of each walk is given and the sheet numbers of the 1:25,000 Explorer (X) and 1:50,000 Land Ranger (LR) Ordnance Survey maps covering the walk. Where two or more maps in the same series are listed, that covering the starting point is listed first. Walks are circular unless otherwise stated. Where start Point post codes have been added these can only be a rough guide.
On whole day rambles a refreshment stop will be arranged, either at a pub and/or bring a picnic. Members should not eat their own food on pub premises without permission from the staff. Where public transport is involved please check departure times with the operator or leader.
Please note: Where a Wednesday walk is repeated, we would be grateful if you would choose to walk it on the first or second date, not both if possible.
