The daffodils, notable on last week’s walk, were fading. Blossom on trees was today’s feature as well as primroses and lesser celandine. Lady’s smock and bluebells were starting to flower. There was remarkably little mud.
Below we cross a field north of Fittleworth, W Sussex, towards Brookdean and Little Bognor.
Our stop for coffee was on a ridge overlooking the South Downs.
At Egdean, near Petworth, we passed the church of St Bartholomew and paused for a brief look.
On a walk near Guildford the following day we had to stop to avoid a slow worm that crossed our path.
