What the route lacked distance it made up for with mud, stiles and fallen trees. Even kissing gates were tricky; one was in the middle of a small pond. There was also a railway line to cross. Two approaching trains meant the 36 of us had to do this in stages. However, we negotiated the obstacles without mishap. Teamwork was the order of the day.
